Biography

Ali Abdur-Rahman al-Huthaify, born in 1947 in Saudi Arabia, is a distinguished Imam known for his contributions to Islamic teachings. Growing up in a devout environment under his father, Muhammad Abdul Hudaify—a respected scholar and Imam in the Saudi Arabian Army—he developed a strong religious foundation.

He completed his preliminary education under local scholars and memorized the Holy Quran under the guidance of Sheikh Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Hodaifi. Additionally, he attained proficiency in forensic sciences.

In 1972, he graduated with a degree in Law from Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University and continued his studies at Al-Azhar University, where he obtained a master's degree in Islamic law in 1975, followed by a Ph.D.

In 1979, he became the Imam of the Quba Mosque in Madinah and was subsequently honored with the title of Chief Imam of the Prophet’s Mosque—Al-Masjid al-Nabawi. Later that same year, during Ramadan, he was appointed as the Imam of Masjid al-Haram before returning to serve at the Great Mosque of Medina.
